I'm already getting a little bit of support from my fellow macrumors community regulars...so here it is...

he's brought us many changes in his time here:

    • the first annual macrumors avatar contest
    • leader of the DGVPG
    • been an inspiration for us all to make our posts as relevant & significant as possible
    • provided many with exquisite avatars
    • created blackmail propaganda against me if I ever slip up ;)

those in favor of electing dukestreet as the "Official Macrumors Community President" please sign the petition..he he he :D ;)

I'm the man himself hasn't made an appearance here yet...or is he one of the votes for "no?"

in all actuality, it would be a catch 22...he'd still be voting for himself...he he he ;)

My vote would be for no president at all.

Face it, the best we can do is become some sort of Union-like entity that is ultimately powerless. We are operating under a dictatorship!! Arn is the almighty ruler of this kingdom! His word is the only one that counts.

And personally I don't have any problem with that. He seems darn good at listening to the people in the community and making the changes he deems acceptable.

    Long live King Arn!!!

then your vote has been recorded...

I was not making an attempt to overthrough arn however...

was more aiming at making duke a voice for us all...

and to pay him back a little...he he he ;)

still...it's a good idea don't the rest of u think?

I agree with Eye on this one Taft. I think is just a reward for his efforts that he has put into making the site that much better than it already was. We have a real community going here, and we are starting to grow, in many ways. He has been working hard on promoting the site, and making it fun for us to come here and do more than argue about PDA's. Macrumors has grown into one hell of a website, and yes, Arn is the king of all that is righteous. That will never change, but lets give Duke a little slap on the back shall we.

    Duke, you got my vote.

    I didn't ask for this...

Lets see what happens once you get 1% of the members to vote, ok? That's pretty poor turnout, but not bad for around here.

    currently we're at
    Members: 5,296, Threads: 6,258, Posts: 83,480

So if you get 53 votes, that should be good enough? Sound ok?

I wonder where all of the members are. I imagine a lot register and post once or twice and then poof. I wonder what the average post count per member is.

I think we can be fairly certain that your post count is slightly above average :p

Almost 4000 of those members have 10 or fewer posts. You can't expect them to voice their opinion. Of the remaining member, 1% means 15 votes would do. Will that be satisfactory duke? :D

    Prime Minister makes more sense.

Considering he'd stand between us and the monarch.

Personally I prefer enlightened Anarchy to a Republican Oligarchy....:D

Perhaps I shouldn't take my Herbal brain-juice while posting.....
