    Good God...

    Let's think about this: A 1X DVD burner requires 1.3MB per second to be sent to the drive. This drive, at its top speed, requires 16.5MB per second. Yes, I know the high-end G4s and the G5s can do this fairly easily, but WOW! That's a lot of data to transfer very quickly.

    To put this into some perspective, a 52X CD burner requires just under 9MB per second of data.

    True, burn-proof technologies will prevent buffer underruns, but then why are you spending so much extra for a faster drive if your computer won't keep up?

    Does it matter? This is from 2004. It's five years old. Who cares?
