I realize this may not belong in the AppleTV forum, but I'm posting it here because the discussions about folks ditching their cable after buying the AppleTV box is what got me thinking about it.

So how much TV do you watch in a given day? This includes network TV and cable TV, but not DVDs, video games, computer time, etc.

About an hour or two a day for me...

But I couldn't even guess how much if :apple: TV came with a DVR standard.

Just moved to the UK and don't have a TV in my room. It is a complete nightmare, although on second thought I only ever used to watch 2 things; CNBC and the NFL, lol.

Yeah I would love to ditch cable for ATV, but hard to beat the $40 price of expanded basic cable for a family of four and the variety of content it offers.

PLus going ATV would mean ATVs for every TV in the house at $230 a pop.

For you single folks in college apts it might work. No ESPN tho or local sports channels. You could rig up the rabbit ears for network content I suppose.

I'm surprised so many people own TV sets just to watch movies...
