It will be interesting to see how much it actually goes for - it just sounds a bit much to me and I really can't imagine anyone would pay 1.5 million.....but you never know.

1.5 - 5 Million - for an Escort - without a cool glass shield dome? That's just unholy.

Does it mention how it has a button that if you push it, the front hops up and down, the azz-end drops and the speakers blast "Jesus Walks" by Kanye West?

I absolutely support this guy getting on the Pope-profit train, but this part made the authenticity seem a little dubious:
Kruse said a Vatican official told him the pope "loved to sneak out dressed in commoner clothes and take hikes and slip away in this car."
It would seem odd that the Vatican would allow the Pope to do this at all, I mean, imagine if the President suddenly said, "Hey, I'll dress up like a commoner and take my Vespa for a spin in downtown DC."

OTOH, this car is total "Pimp My Ride" material - it could look kind of like Jesus-meets-Graceland when completed.

I would say Rome is probably safer than DC. Congressmen have been mugged on capital hill.

Clinton went out jogging all the time. Bush does too. Nothing really to stop them. The secret service would allow it if they were nondescript and accompanied by at least one agent.

well all things pope jpII are going pretty hot right now so he might as well take advantage of that

I just always find it amazing that someone has that kind of money to literally throw away. Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay. An Escort is certainly stretching the limits.

Ah, but there is talk of canonization.

Imagine owning the only car ever owned by any saint...

With all the Saints put up by Pope John Paul II, it's no longer as impressive. At least IMHO.
