That's very interesting, it could be a prototype. But wow, 80 GBs of storage? Sign me up.

What wouldn't surprise me is if this is a prototype build with the new internals and a really hideous body.

But even that is pushing it. This looks like a fake. Tear it open. The first thing I would do if I found it is take pictures of it while it was on and working and then, if Apple didn't come after me, tear it apart.

For all who are saying this is ugly, realize this. It's probably the way the photos are taken.

Looks like were gonna have to just wait and see. Keep updated with engadget I'm sure someone will find a way to get it turned on.

Seams are pretty hideous. Apple made a big point of removing any seams that it could between the 2G and the 3G. This is a major step backwards if it has seams.

I think Apple will keep the plastic back for better reception and wifi signal etc.
The back of this "prototype" could be made of plastic, so yeah, I think this could very well be the new iPhone. Glass front, aluminium sides and plastic back.

Agree. Apple is all about unibody construction. This makes no sense.

I reckon it will look like iPad. But what I am not sure about is what material they will use. Obviously metal is an RF inhibitor which is why first iPhone had bad reception, and with iPad they did a cut out to solve this on 3G model.

Folks, this looks to be the real deal. Steve Jobs must be very unhappy right about now.

I can only imagine...

I remain skeptical until we get more info. Are there only pics or does somebody actually have the phone in possession and are willing to give details (I hope). Time will tell. Nice goin' Engadget for this one.

The seam at the top is suspect. I think what it could be is a chinese iPod Touch knockoff. And the drive inside of it is a 1.8 inch platter drive, that's where 80 GB's is coming from. I haven't heard of any flash memory at 80 GB's.

That phone looks gross and like something Nokia would make

This sounds about right.

Intel's SSD is 80gb.

They make SSDs that come in 80 GB capacities but that's SSD. It definitely sounds like a 1.8 inch HDD.

Is all flash memory the same? I was under the impression that there is different form factors of flash memory.
