I'm still in the process of getting my "computer room" at home set up so that I can hopefully at least semi-permanently set up a good part of my collection.
Here's my Quad at work as of three weeks ago
For practical reasons, there is now a 1,1 sitting in this spot, although I have the Quad still hooked up and working. It now sits next to the SGI Octane(albeit temporarily with one monitor)
Here's a B&W in my office, along with a PB 5300C(I was trying to get the Laserwriter working with the B&W, and was using the 5300 for testing)
There's now a Beige G3 with a 1ghz Sonnet G4 upgrade and a couple of other nice upgrades sitting on a second table to the right of the above. It's connected to the other 1680x1050 display that use to be on the Quad.
Once I bring a Cube in, my "Office Mac" collection will be complete, although admittedly I'll probably bring in a Performa 636 and/or IIci just to have some 68K representation. I still need to scrounge up a switch(or heaven forbid, buy one) so that I can get everything on the network. Thanks to internet sharing and the fact that both the MP and Quad have two ethernet ports, I have them "daisy chained" at the moment but can only connect one additional computer past the Quad.
Bringing in 68K Macs will necessitate a Localtalk network springing up also. I've been going around pulling localtalk cables out of walls at work for the past year, so have built up a decent stash of long cables
. It's amazing how many there still are around the place, and most folks have absolutely no clue what they are. It's not at all uncommon for me to open a drawer and find an Appletalk box or two also which I can usually get for the asking-I've even come up with a few of the rare DB-9 ones for the 128K/512K/Plus. I even did an office clean-out a while back and found one connected to a Quadra 700 via the even rarer mini DIN-8 to DB-9 cable.
