I have to buy new logic board... So i just thinking, can I place 1.5 GHz motherboard in my 1GHz PB17... i was serching net for some time already, but cant find any useful information... (because they are in same price)

My guess would be no. I'm not sure if you can or not but I had a similar problem - the logic board on my PB 17" 1.33 went bad. Apple replaced it with a newer logic board and since then I have been getting kernel panics every hour. I have arranged for Apple to replace this again later this week. Apple's service rep said they may have either replaced it with a bad logic bord OR a "newer" logic board.

Maybe someone else here with more technical of a background can enlighten us here.
