Powerbook and Viewsonic LCD problem?

Hey guys, I have a Viewsonic VP171b LCD 17" Monitors, I love it but I tried to hook it up to my 17" Rev. A Powerbook today via DVI port and it keeps giving me an "Out of Range H. Frequency 79KhZ V. Frequency 75Hz". If I use it in analog mode and then use the Apple analog to DVI adpater it works. I don't see why the direct DVI plug in from the monitor wouldn't work, I really don't want to have to use analog when I know DVI looks so much crisper :(. Any help please?
