Powerbook Buzzing, Power cord

    That would probably be the power supply unit. The PSUs in Powerbooks seem to have odd properties. For example when your powerbook is plugged in gently run your finger along the aluminium. If your hands really dry you should feel the PB sort of vibrate under your finger tips but it won't do this when its running off battery. Now i've said that you probably won't be able to do it!

    Sorry back to your problem...i found a little app (which i have now lost) that could run your processor at 100% for testing purposes but it also had a little button which played a tune with that humming sound you hear so i assume its caused by changing the voltage to the CPU. Should only be obvious in a very quiet room though, if its noticeably louder i would go show them at an apple store
