Hi Folks,

Hoping someone can help with the following dilemna. I have a 17 inch Powerbook running Panther. When I attempt to connect it to my ViewSonic LCD Display my Powerbook shuts down immediately after start up. When I let the Powerbook start up completely, then plug in Digital cable from monitor it works fine. All my past experiences with plugging in such devices has always been to make sure everything is powered off, so needless to say it's a little scary plugging in the monitor to the Powerbook when both are powered on (even though it works).
Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

I always hot-plug the monitor when I do it. In fact, I've never even tried to hook up the monitor before I turn the computer on. But then again, I never turn my computer off. I do hook up external monitors when it's sleeping though, but that works fine too. I've never had any trouble with an external monitor for my PB.
