    And this 1.6Ghz G4 is what model exactly?

    7455, 7457, something else entirely?

    I was wondering the exact same thing. If PowerLogix can get their hands on a faster chip, why can't apple?

    They can, and have: the IBM 970.

    The other issue is that PowerLogix, Sonnet and so on, can introduce a product using a CPU available in much smaller quantities than the minimum that Apple could go with.
