i am thinking about buying one of these as a workstation. I don't do any intensive work but I would like to own a PowerMac for a workstation. Does anyone know where I could find a brand new one that are on clearance? I am sure retailers have these and will be trying to clear them out.

The Apple refurbished store has them for $1099 but I am trying to see if I can find a brand new one. Their original price for a brand new one was $1499.

if anyone sees one, would you please let me know.

    thx!

why not refurbed? they work better than new ones in most cases, and sometimes come with free goodies- extra RAM, etc.

There have been stability issues with this model and Tiger AFAIK. I'd steer clear and go for something else.

It is made by Apple too right? How can something made by Apple not work with MacOS?

look for a rev. A (900 mhz bus) - they don't have the problems that the later version does.
