    Hey there.

I have very vague ideas of wanting a PowerMac within say the next year to two years, and wondered what the MR community thought we had in stock for us, and when.. This is not buying advice, just general speculation.. a nice debate. :)

What kind of Intel Chips do you think we'll see? What speed? Any more G5's?

    g5 till 2007.

i'd just get a powerbook when your ibook stops doing it for you.

(and btw are you not the kid that got a free ipod mini for crying in the apple store?)

yeah, the transition is said to go over 2006-7 and apple is not switching for the P4 or any netburst design the G5 is better there is little point, what they are switching for is the pentium M and that hits the desktop/workstations late 2007.

    *Sigh* ;)

Ok, its really not that shocking.. :D

I was at the Grand Opening on the London Store, way back in November, trying to get a lucky bag. I arrived at midnight. I was about 250th in the queue, nicely placed to get one of the 300 Lucky Bags. By the time it got to 10am, the first 300 people were let in, and I was about 100 away.. Ridiculous. Queue jumpers, and poor management of the line ****ed the whole thing up, and I was pretty pissed, after a freezing night, it is fair to say.. :) When I finally got in, at 11am, having been queuing for 11 hours, I went to the counters at the front of the store, and the guy 3 in front of me bought the last lucky bag. Grr. That makes you MAD.
Anyhoo, I was moping around the store, checking out some stuff, feeling sorry for myself. The assistant manager, all happy and geared up for the opening (Vertigo was playing, and it was a paarty scene), asked me what was up. I told her I was the youngest there (13 at the time), queued for 11 hours, and didn't get a lucky bag.
She went off, and said she'd see what she could do. Came back with a new, sealed iPod mini silver. :D
That cheered me up, and it was all very cool.

I presume Hector heard about this story either on the forums in the Grand Opening thread, where I have posted it before, or he read the article in MacFormat (UK Mac magazine). They had a picture of me with the iPod and all.. ;)

    There we go. All done.

    *Bows*

You must be cute or something. :)

I'll try that trick at the Annapolis opening.

    Hahahaha.. :D

But you aren't gonna queue for 11 hours.. :) And you aren't small. ;)
