aforementioned trophy video is linked to in this thread.

from what i understand, the mercenaries cost the military more than having their own troops there. and basically free from oversight and consequences, they're really damaging the US reputation.

so in every sense except political, it makes sense to institute a draft to get the troop numbers back up. but that's unsellable.

the sooner we realize this, the sooner we'll get to a real conclusion.

You mean privatizing something that shouldn't be privatized isn't a good idea!?! Color me shocked.

You know, if we privatized the army wouldn't it be more honest than what we have now? We could have troops storming Baghdad wearing uniforms saying "brought to you by the good people of EXXON" or instead of the marines in Santo Domingo and Managua we could have had "liberation sponsored by UNITED FRUIT" Alas, I think this might be taking "truth in advertising" a step too far for some.

How long before the States are overrun with turf wars between private corporate militias?

How will the Apple Corps survive the Microsoft air strikes?

You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

I serve up this big, juicy, slow moving target just laden with potential Microsoft jokes to a bunch of Macheads and not a single one of you jumps up to spike it?

    Why not, everybody else does.

I thought I'd made an effort, if only a feeble one.

Subterfuge. Microsoft hasn't figured out that Apple owns all the Airports.

Someone got mad at me today. So I had to cool my jets, so to speak, as I was at work. After all, I work for a top flight company, that type of behavior is not tolerated.

    ;)

Yeah, I do. So I decided to wing it today, and just let things flow.

    edit: less pressure that way

I'm sure Steve Jobs would just beat Bill Gates up (pretty sure Schiller could kick Balmers ass too). Unlike the chickenhawks in our gov, I'm sure they'd be more inclined to join their troops in the fields. And of course, we all remember what happened when Creative declared war on Apple. You don't? Exactly.
