Problem cant get mac to boot to osx

    Hiya my friend just brought a little ibook g4. It was working but now for some reason it doesnt boot any more it gets to the white apple logo with the spinning thing in the middle then goes to the DOS like enviroment with loads of options which i dont know what to do with LOL. I never had this problem with my mac so i cant help. What could this be? MAybe someone deleted something they shouldnt of done? my mate said about virus but i told him macs dont get them etc. Any ideas

    You are in single user mode. You normally get there by holding down Apple-S on boot up. At the prompt, type reboot, and hit enter. Hopefully this reboots the computer and it goes into OS X. If not, let us know what it does.

    Single user mode is used to fix problems before getting into the OS. You can look up Single user mode here at the forms and you will see people talking about booting into SUM to do a fsck to repair problems.

    If the reboot command doesn't work, try zapping the PRAM.

    Ah yeh i just rang him he said that dont work? I cant remember how to reset the pram? what buttoms do you hold or is it a internal thing please post a reply this is going good already and only one post hehe

    Command (apple button)+option+P+R during boot up and before the apple screen. Wait for the chime again, then release the keys.
