I downloaded GIMP and it says I need to install X11. What is that and where can I get it?

It's a UNIX environment...Apple supplies it for you on one of your install disks that came with the last version of the OS you bought (or your Mac if you just bought one).

It's in the "Optional Installs" package. You may need to scroll down in the window to see it.

If when browsing the system disk remember to scroll down. At first I couldn't find the optional components either because I didn't notice that there was a scroll bar.
