I purchased 2 songs the other night (my first 2) from the iTunes Music store. The first song is fine but the second song has a 2 second gap, a blank spot, at 1 minute 31 seconds that is not part of the song and shouldn't be there.

After a bit of searching I contacted the iTMS and told them the song was damaged and asked for either a refund or a new undamaged file. They responded by having me dowload the file a second time.

I was shocked to discover that no one at the iTMS checked the file before contacting me as the new download still contained the same 2 second gap.

I contacted Apple again and this time they decided to refund my $.99.

I just checked the iTMS and the song in question is still being sold with, I am assuming until told otherwise, the gap included.

Now, my questions are A) Does Apple have a clear policy with regards to damaged/corrupt media B) Will Apple contact others who bought the file and may not know the gap is a mistake or may not know how to obtain a refund C) Will apple remove damaged songs from their site until they are fixed D) When fixed will Apple notify those who received a refund for a damaged song that a new file is available?

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Right now I am not confident in the quality of Apple's service and feel I cannot yet recommend it to others until I know their policies.

The song was "Sunless Saturday" by the band Fishbone.

I downloaded the song "The Jump Off" bye Lil' Kim and the track was only 31 seconds in length. It should be several minutes long. I looked up all of her albums and one is encoded entirely of ~30 second songs, obviously an error. How do I go about getting my $0.99 back?

Through the "Provide iTunes Feedback" menu item in the iTunes 4 menu you will be taken to a web page where you can submit a question.

    This was difficult to find.

    Good luck!
