So many of these popping up..

Oh well, as all the other threads say:

It is based on a matter of personal taste.

I thought so too but someone said the white one shows less fingerprints than the black one?

Go to the apple store, they have both on display. Whichever you think is prettier, I'd say get :)

I wanted to choose the black one, but apparently color does matter, like I posted above, the white one apparently shows less fingerprints?

I ordered a white one. Just because I was a bit tired staring my iPad 1 and MBP. Time for a change.

The white and black color is under the glass? Neither show more fingerprints than the other.

Eh, might as well go with full list here.

    White Pros:
    -Looks elegant (personal taste)
-Fingerprints do not show up as much
-Blends in with the back pretty well
-Smart covers add a touch of beauty to the white
-Can be good for reading (personal taste sometimes)
-Good if you enjoy drawing/sketching apps
    White Cons:
-If scratched, oils from either your hands or anything else in the air piles up and make that scratch nastier (so don't scratch)
-CAN be annoying while watching videos
-(On the iPad 2) the contrast seemed a little off
    -Probably more

    Black Pros:
    -Looks professional (personal taste)
-Fingerprints show up a bit more (unless you wipe that good ol' screen)
-Blends in with the back as well
    -Very good for watching videos
-Can be good for reading (personal taste sometimes)
-Contrast seems nicer (at least it was on the iPad 2)
    Black Cons:
    -Minor scratches show up less
-Matches a lot of iOS devices (kind of)
    -Probably more

Thanks! I like the black one more to be honest, I think it looks more "original" to the Apple products.

    Mhm, I try my best.

Of course I ordered the black for the "drawing/sketchbook" need.

Why should it matter people? Just pick one and go with it, it is all about what you want, if it really makes you happy buy 2, one of each color... There is no difference in performance wise, so these are really tedious threads...

in the past, the black ipad had it rough. the white ipad used them as slaves for a while. however, the black ipad has grown in power and are a part of many levels of society now, even the presidency. even so, people still try to keep the black ipad down. once you go black, you need a wheelchair.

This pretty much sums it up.

I love the white iPhone simply because the fingerprints, dust, an smudges are much less noticeable than my black iPhones of the past. I would have preferred a white iPad, but the wife called dibs on the white. Neither of us are big fans of cases & we didn't want them getting mixed up around the house, so I settled for the black. She didn't give me crap for paying the extra for the LTE version so I didn't give her crap about picking white. Retina looks great no matter. What color frames it!

You always see at least one of these in the "Which Color" threads.

If I'm going to spend over $800 CAN, I want to get an iPad that will have longevity from both performance and appearance wise.

The camera shows up more on the white one, it sort of bothers me. The black blends in more nicely.

But they are both the same thing... performance wise and appearance wise minus the option of black vs. white coloring. So how does that affect longevity?

I kept seeing a white border on the iPad when comparing the two (video pix). After all the feedback I read about that I was concerned that I would not get over it even if logically the border should not matter. Plus I tend to buy black vs white Apple products by default. Did not want to regret the purchase later (and deal with trying to exchange the iPad in the heart of launch day).

seriously, i've owned both colors. over time, all you care about is what's on the screen and the color of the bezel doesn't matter as much as it used to.

based off my experience it all stared with my first IOS device (iPhone 4)...

    it seems,
    i went black,
and thus cannot go back... :D

I think the downside of a white device is that it really emphasises the screen edge and makes it seems a little small. Also it's distracting when watching videos.

That being said, it looks very fresh, makes a nice change if you've been using black iOS devices for the past few years, and hardly shows up any marks.

Black has an understated elegance to it though...hmm decisions decisions.
