Yiddish, I hope, because it looks way too much like German to be Hebrew.

    Happy Passover!

I'm Jewtheist :D. From a Jewish family, taught the religion, bar mitzvahed, ect, but I personally find all religion to be BS and am atheist. But I'm cheap and have a bigger nose than most, so I'm still sorta Jewish :D

Moi. I am very strange. I don't go to synagogue, but do keep kosher (style, anyway) but don't keep passover.

Hehe. I would call myself reform, but my parents are conservative.

My grandparents are jews. It's really cool, because I get to learn about the traditions and ideas of two religions that shaped our world.

Madjew? this thread is for you!!!

Christian here, but I've never met anyone who has told me they are a jew. I won't doubt someone I know is, but honestly I have never met a devout jew. Anyone want to be my first? :p

Nice to see there are people that still care about heritage and past cultures.

Umm- I have to say this: I worked for The DeMar family here in Chicago at the Oak Tree Restaurant for 8 years and it was the most pleasant experience I've ever had (OK, not always). I get really sick of the stereotypical "jews are cheap" thing. If you want to call them demanding, then OK. They are very demanding and expect the best. But this family stood by me, helped me get into my professional career, and also taught me the value of hard work. They were extremely generous with their advice, money and wisdom. I frequently visit the restaurant to this day, because I know that some other kid is coming up through it too and needs the discipline. Hale Demar, while certainly not perfect, had a huge impact on my life. I'm sure you guys at least read this about him:

Grandparents on which side? If I understand it correctly, if someone's mother is Jewish then they are Jewish by birth and otherwise they are Jewish only if they convert.

At least he got the mad part right though. :p

How do you think you got the 603 ranking?

So the reference is basically random?

Well, it's hard to explain. My stepgrandfather on my mom's side was raised in a Jewish household, and passed the tradition onto my grandmother after my mom's birth. However, they don't travel to synagogue and aren't observAnt... but they still teach me things about Judaism and follow old a few old traditions despite now going to an Episcopal church...

I'm so confused. It's kind of like yin and yang, and they still sometimes refer to themselves as Jews... even though they're not REALLY Jewish.

    Oh well. :p

(Excuse the spelling. It's 2 AM!)

I'm half Jewish, does that count? It's on my Mother's side, but her Mother is a practicing Atheist who remarried a Christian after divorcing my Jewish Grandfather. And my Mother remarried a Christian, though no longer practicing. My Father being German Protestant.

Still, Happy Passover and Happy Easter!
