    It has officially started now...

    Or me.

I found this a little disturbing though.

So it isn't 1080p after all?
1080i, never been experienced? I think Sony needs to buy a 360. Seriously now that was just a very very bad comment to say. it's laughable. infact; hahahaha.

yea I hear. must be a typo, or maybe 1080p is for the Dev Kits (what the demo is running on). Suppose I'll just have to wait for Sony to clarify this at some point.

    Joystiq/Endagadget saying that it's in 1080i?

    This is confusing :)

I just watched their online strategy. I don't know how he could state with a straight face that being online and connected is "now expected." Duh! Back in 2002 the Xbox was doing it.

It was like deja vu all over again, just four years late. The only feature they offer is video chat (coming soon w/ 360 video camera) and the cost: free. I think you're deluding yourself if the entire service is "free" with no restrictions.

I tuned in late for the card game demo with the Eye Toy (?) but that looked really cool!

Oooh! Download PS games just got better, I think! sounds like they're free? at least from what I'm seeing here no price has been said yet. hmm. if they get around screen issues, button number issues and lower the price of the PSP then I might consider one. I mean Tomb Raider 1, Loaded, Battle Arena Toshinden, Jumping Jack Flash. Nostalgia runs supreme.

Free online. woots! but the dreaded word came out

MICROTRANSACTIONS. god dammit. not again. Yey, I want to pay for a new texture or map, that would be absolutely free for a PC game! -_- no thanks. If this is their strategy then no thanks at all.

Is it just me or do those controllers look more like the PS2 controllers than the PS3 ones shown last year?

EDIT: Yeah, it definitely looks like a silver/gray PS2-like controller.

    And they're wired.

Maybe keeping the new controllers under wraps a little bit longer?

I can't help but compare this keynote to one of Apple's. This is pretty boring. Not much new either. Although the PSP integration with the PS3 is kinda cool.

For the most part, these speeches are pretty boring. But there has been a lot more new things than just PSP integration.

    Help?

It won't work for me. The Best Buy add plays, but then it just goes to a white screen and nothing happens.

I'm using safari and flip4mac is installed. . . what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks.

I want to see a better resolution too. If anyone finds one, let me know. I'd be happy to mirror it on my site for easy downloading (assuming you find it legally).

    PS3 controller

Well, Sony has made the controller like Nintendo's (almost). It can detect "6 degrees of motion." Requires no external sensor. Nintendo's will probably be better, but I wonder what this is like. Added on feature after N's announcement? Preplanned?

    EDIT: oh yeah, it's standard.

    so... $100-200 more then 360.

If anyone saw the press conferences, who else thought it's NOT worth that much?

And $599 with a 60 gig hard drive. Basically, they're doing two configurations, like Microsoft. And, the lower-end configuration is 200 dollars more than Microsoft's XBOX 360 low end; its higher-end configuration is 200 dollars more then XBOX 360's high end.
