Recently purchased my new 12" PB with 80GB Hard Drive. At the moment I have all my songs on my iMac with a 60GB Hard Drive. So I was wondering when I get my powerbook will I be able to transfer my playlists from my iMac to my Powerbook. It will be easier to have all my music on my PB as I will still be able to update my iPod on the go and also charge it, plus there is more HD space for the songs. However I don't want to just copy the songs from computer to computer because that would mess all my playlists up.
    So got any ideas?
Thanks any help is greatly appreciated.

Best way is to transfer the entire "Music" folder to the new computer. This has all the data, like playlists, and play count etc, plus all the music.

Ok thanks but how would i transfer 1.38GB's of data? Is DVD media the only option cause I do have a superdrive, so it should be quite easy?

You could set up a local network, which I more practical for my household with 4 Macs currently in use, or you could use Target Disk mode using a FireWire cable. I have never used TDM because I have never had a need for it, but I am sure some nice fellow here wouldn't mind telling you about it.

If you don't like their suggestion, a DVD would do fine as well.

    Good Luck.

I used target disk mode to transfer my entire home folder... works great and fast. http://support.apple.com

Just search for Firewire disk mode
