question about lightpipe w/ iMac Core Duo

I was thinking about getting a PreSonus DigiMAX LT and using it with GarageBand on my iMac Core Duo. The DigiMAX has an ADAT Lightpipe output. My question is (and forgive me if this is a newb kind of question, I don't know a whole lot about lightpipe), is the optical input compatible with lightpipe? If not, how can I convert lightpipe to something I can use? Thanks in advance.

i don't know if the optical port on the mac supports 8 channels of ADAT. it certainly supports 2 channel s/pdif, i'm listening through it right now.

if no one here knows, i suggest hitting up presonus tech support. they'll certainly know the status of apple optical, and they're a good bunch of guys, to boot.
