Hey, for some reason Fred is speaking damn near everything, and I can't get him to stop; I tried going to services and stop speaking in each app individually, and that doesn't work. Also, for some reason there's this weird outline around a lot of things. Windows, sometimes pics, sometimes text, sometimes just my hard drive. I pressed something wrong, but I had no idea any commands could even do this. Anyone know?

If it's "reading" most things, it's probably VoiceOver. The settings for it are in System Preferences > Universal Access.

If it's just reading alerts, then check in System Preferences > Speech > Text to Speech.

As for the outlines, it's hard to picture what that might be. Possibly a setting in Universal Access > Seeing. There is an option for Zoom (if enabled) that shows a preview rectangle when zoomed out.

    Hope this helps.
