iPod Quick iPod photo question

My dad is telling me the original iPod photo came with five or six songs already stored on the hard drive for free. I'm not calling him a liar, but I just wanted to see if this information is correct. It doesn't sound like Apple to include a handful of songs by default...

Perhaps he caught one of the free iTunes New Music samplers that was loaded during install time? I first found out about them when installing my wife's mini.

Oh the iTunes New Music Sampler? I have that too, under Purchased Music. I think he was talking about directly on the hard drive, though. Software-wise, that's different. I'll clarify tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me.
