quick question...

    ...about how long does the battery last in a G4 Powerbook when the lid is closed and it's sleeping.

    Mine is a bit less on my 12" PB. Maybe 48 hours.

    I've just replaced my battery, so I suspect it will drop over time.

    3 days???? mine has lasted almost 8 days once.

    Yeah I'd say 48-72 hours for me...much less than my iBook, which could go well over a week, close to two.

    Why does the iBook's battery last so much longer while sleeping?

    The iBook sleeps when closed but the PBook can still be used, with an external display for example. Would this have anything to do with it?

    It shouldn't...when you use the PB with an external display, you're actually waking it up while closed. I think the power drain comes from the brighter sleep light on the PB. ;)
