quicktime - is there a better video player out there for mac?

    i got a bunch of avi and mpegs of movies i occasionally like to watch - i was wondering if there is a better player then Quicktime i should take a look at

    anyone who says WMP - :| - please - support M$ somewhere else - the mac version sucks a 12 on a scale of suctitude.

    yep. VLC will play most things - and if it won't, MPlayer X will.

    I haven't had much luck with VLC but it does support Dolby Digital 5.1 decoding, at least from M-Audio. The main version of VLC has been recently updated to 0.5.3 and M-Audio's version is still at 0.4.3.

    I asked this same question like 3 weeks ago and i got video lan player. IT is THE BEST EVER. get that one!

    Yes WMP for Mac sucks, but I put it on my computers because there are a few places that feed live vid, like music vids that only use it.
