I was looking at crucial.com but that link you provided has it for $70 less for the OWC.... What experiences has anyone had with this ram? I now crucial has lifetime support and such. (wanting to buy today)

I bought a 1GB stick of Crucial from Newegg for my MBP. It might not be the cheapest (cheaper than Crucial's site though), but I'm comfortable with Newegg, so I went with them.

I bought a 1 GB stick from OWC. Been working great for a week or so now. No issues.

Great! I just placed my order... can't wait to see the machine at full speed.

What major differences should I notice?

Really depends on what you are using.

I use RDC for Mac (remote desktop connection) to connect to my Win systems (since VPC is currently not supported which I purchased so I am waiting for an update). When I was @ 1 GB, I could connect and perform operations fine, but the performance was a little slow when I had other processes running (i.e. I would get the beachball often). After my upgrade, I have noticed that I do not receive the beachball as often, and my app transitions are generally a lot smoother.

So the bottomline is that it depends on what you are doing, but you should notice overall systems performance improvements if you have a baseline to compare it to.

You can never go wrong with adding more mem - unless it turns out to be bad mem:p .

    Good luck and congrats!
