Normally use a Canon Eos 300d (rebel or whatever its called). Raw on the Mac is all sweetness and light.

Have an old Powershot G2 I use rarely for family shots and travel. Normally take JPG's but set it to raw this time .

    Results were:(

    IPhoto 5 - Does not support them:eek:
Canon Image Browser - Supports them BUT limited editing and all you can really do is export them as TIFFS:rolleyes:
Canon Digital Photo Professional - Unbelievably does not support them

    At least

Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 - Supports them and does all the editing I want.

    ;)

This problem is surely set to get worse with new cameras and manufacturers coming out all the time. Maybe Pixmantec (Wish Rawshooter essentials was ported for the Mac should) should be supported for an OpenRaw standard.

Aperture might support your G2 RAW files. The issue with photographers is Aperture's handling of meta data associated with the RAW files. If photographers stopped using Aperture, all the meta data with the RAW files vanishes. So there is talk of Apple trying to patch Aperture for this missing functionality before it ships. Seems like a minefield indeed.
