    Hello all,

I am currently in line to get an iMac G5 2.1 and was wondering about routers. Specifically I have a D-Link wireless 108G (DGL-4300) gaming router that I allows me to use one DSL modem for both my current (although soon to be replaced! yea! :D ) Windows P.C. and my XBOX. The router is listed as working fine with OS X v10.3/v10.2/v10.1, yet I was wondering if anyone knew if the router would work with Tiger (v10.4)?

I would like to keep the D-Link router if possiible as it is $30+ less than Apple's Base Station and is up to twice as fast (108 Mbps for D-Link and 54 Mbps for the Base Station).

    Thanks all!

It will work fine. 802.11g is a standard which both the hardware inside the Mac and your router abide by. It actually has very little to do with the OS.

As for the DLink being 108Mbps ... Marketing ploy. It'll only be 'theoretically' 108Mbps when talking to compatible DLink hardware. Your Mac, sporting an Airport Extreme card, will restrict it to 54Mbps (again, theoretical only.)
