    As the title states...

I tried Command + Drag but I guess that only works with removing items from there. I'm really a n00b when it comes to this MAC thing.

    Thanks in advance!

You should be able to Command + drag their order as well... Are you sure it doesn't work?

That only works with the Apple ones and a few others. Change the order in the startup items (Sys Prefs-Accounts-Startup) making the one you want on the left launch first.

By trial and error (see below), I discovered the working way to rearrange the app icons. However, I don't think there is a solution for placing the app icons to the right of the apple icons.

That is not enough because once you shut down and boot back up, everything will be misplaced again. What I discovered by trial and error is that you need to quit all applications in your menu bar and remove them from startup. Next you load the applications you want on the menu bar in order from right to left. Once you have them all up and running, you have to drag them into startup in the same order.

    This will do the trick!
