What is the best software to record in-game? (Any game.) Free or paid; it should be a reasonable size when complete for YouTube purposes. (Not gigs and gigs, ha.) Any ideas?

I use Screenflow. It has worked flawlessly for me for years. It provides a lot of encoding options that can keep the file sizes down. It also has a "Export To Youtube" feature which can come in handy.

There is a free trial, but the full version will cost you $99.00.

How do you guys manage to record games ? I've tried all of these apps and none of them was actually cutting it. Disk i/o is too much for a non-ssd machine to record decently. Besides that, recording sound along with the video is at least problematic.

Always talking about games, though. Built-in screen recording (from quicktime) for anything else works great.
