    Hi everyone,

I bought a new Macbook at an Apple Store (new Fifth Ave Store) 2 weeks ago. However I had a couple of problems with the laptop like whining and overheating, so I decided to return it and wait a few months for new revisions. Last week I went to the store and returned it, I was charged %10 restocking fee, but they did not make the payment due to the reason that refunds for the cash payments are made via mail check. I've been told that I would get the check in two to three weeks. That came pretty long to me and called yesterday, this time the guy on the phone said the mail time is 7-10 days. Today I checked my mail, still nothing. Is anyone aware of this "refund via mail check" issue ? Or anyone had any problem with it? I feel like I've been fooled since I haven't got a penny even though they got the computer from me.

    Thanks for reading :)

It happens a lot in retail stores. When I was at Compusa, we would do the same, any purchase made with cash, or checks would be refunded by company check mailed from the corporate office simply due to the fact the stores only had so much cash on hand per day.

Don't worry, it's common practice, and you'll get your money back.
