I sold my Nexus in preparation for the iPhone 5...but I'm just not feeling iOS anymore. Sure, it's a fine OS and all the stuff I want is on it, but I just feel kinda silly waiting in line for a new phone, just cause.

Any idea when the new Nexus phones are coming out? Should I just buy the 5 and wait to resell it when they do?

Considering buying a Nexus 7, and using my dumbphone until they do. Yeah, it's a tablet, but it's small enough to carry most places, I'd guess.

I think with everything it's a case of grass is always greener on the other side.

There's no harm in moving to other devices, in fact in any ways it could be argued that by moving around, iOS, Blackberry, Windows Phone, Android that you learn to appreciate when one gets it right and where others get it so wrong.

Personally I would love a phone that combined

Blackberry 9900 call quality and reception.
    Windows Phones people integration.
MeeGo's (Nokia N9) low energy clock & notifications when in standby.
Androids ability to customise (but preferably without the memory holes and poorly optimised widgets)
IOS reliability and consistent performance, app selection etc. (less fragmentation of hardware/devices)

The Nexus is rumoured for November time. However usually it correlates with the next version of Android OS, so it could be possible it might land a little later than expected. Especially given the slow rollout of Jellybean to devices so far.

I have a HTC one X at moment, thinking of grabbing either a Nokia Lumia 920 or iPhone 5 next.

I'd wait for the next wave of Nexus phones, rumour has it there will be 3 Nexus devices by separate manufacturers.

If you are paying 200 for the 5 you will be able to sell it for way more than that and be able to afford a nexus 2 anyways

Find a used Nexus and use that till the announcement.

There is nothing wrong with the Nexus 7 tablet... you should get one of those anyway. They rock.

Yeah, I'm thinking of going this route. Worst comes to worst, I don't care for the iPhone and sell it unlocked for $500 or so around November.

If you are going to, I might recommend buying a white version. Apparently the black ones have anodization issues (even from some guy putting on and as he said, very carefully taking it off) caused the black anodized coating to chip and reveal the shiny aluminum under.

I went the opposite way. I was gonna get an Iphone 5 with Verizon, but canceled my preorder because i didn't want to lose unlimited data. I couldn't justify spending $700+ for an unsubsidized iOS device that i cant customize. Went on CL yesterday and bought a 1 month old flawless GNex w/ extended battery for $200 off someone who had bought an I5.

Love JellyBean but looking to root and install a custom rom. Where should i look for the best directions? google search produces so much information to weed through.

Also fits in the pants pocket.

But if you need a smart phone the galaxy nexus is still a fine phone and you can get it for quite cheap right now.
