My power mac g5 broke down, put a new hard drive in but i have lost all the install disks, has anyone any idea how i can reinstall my machine, i have a copy of osx 5 for my intel macbook but it comes up that i cannot install on my power mac.

Contact Apple and ask for replacement DVDs for your machine.

The gray restore DVDs are machine specific, so you can't use your MB's DVDs for your PowerMac or for any other MB that differs from yours.

Those replacement DVD should cost around 20-30€.
