I had quite a few applications running on my iMac, and I was also downloading some TV comedy, when suddenly everything stopped. And the worst thing, it didn't start again.

In the end I had to switch the power off and start up again. If this happens again (although hopefully it won't be a regular thing), are there any keys I can press, or other options to try before choosing to cut the power?

    Thanks!

Plenty of options for me to go at there. Although getting more RAM I guess would be my best bet.
