Ran a search on a problem I'm having…

http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1576
When trying to access certain optical discs using Remote Disc, you may see the message "The operation cannot be completed because the original item for cannot be found."

MacBook Air does not support playing DVD movies or audio CD media with Remote Disc DVD or CD Sharing. In addition, some discs, such as game discs, may be copy-protected and therefore unusable.

To play DVD movies, audio CD media or copy-protected discs on the MacBook Air, use the MacBook Air SuperDrive.

Seriously??

Just create a disk image on your source computer. Mount the image on your MBA and you should bypass all that nonsense.

I was actually just trying to access the disk in the first place. Merely clicking on it threw that error.

I actually got it to work on my MBA, with Mac Mini as shared remote disc drive.
In VLC, i selected Open File (instead of Open Disc), and selected the remote DVD and.. walaaa! :D :D
