Is there any way to remove the Notifications icon in the top bar? I won't be using notifications. I don't even use growl.

I find myself clicking on it instead of Spotlight.

The only way as of now is to disable the notification centre. You can do this by running these two commands in the terminal:

Code:
launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist

Code:
sudo mv /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui.bak
