    Hello,

If I remove an Application that has just been approved and is live from the sale in the App store, does it have to be re-submitted? For instance, our client would like to hold back from releasing the App but its already gone live.

    Thanks in advance

The safest/smartest thing to do would be to change the Availability Date to something far in the future.

Then, you can release it at any time. You can also submit new versions without releasing it.

    Thanks for your reply MacToddB.

So my client can login with his developers account and set the Availability Date to something far in the future?

The app is currently LIVE in the AppStore. Would this mean it would 'disappear' until the new launch date? This is the ideal scenario. As the App is LIVE I thought the only thing that could be done would be remove it from sale?

    Thanks

While my advice was accurate at the time, Apple has been retooling iTunes and creating some major bugs.

So now, New Releases only show brand new apps. That is likely by design.

BUT, all approved apps, regardless of release date, are now live. So apps with dates through 2010 are showing up!

If you take down an application ("remove from sale" I think it is called), you will have to resubmit the binary for review, for it to appear in the AppStore again.
