I have an old Sawtooth (AGP) PowerMac G4 that has been reliably functioning as a home fileserver for years. I really only use it to shuffle small files to and from the various computers in the house, but have wanted to upgrade the storage capacity for some time. As of now it has a single 80GB hard drive on the main IDE bus. Seeing as IDE drives are so cheap, I figure I might as well max this thing out. As I understand it the computer has a limit of 120GB per hard drive. This means I should definitely be able to put two 120GB drives on the main IDE bus (theres an empty slot below the current hard drive). My question is if I would be able to toss the floppy and DVD drives (which I never use) and put IDE hard drives in their place. They are on a different bus than the main two hard drives, so would they be accessible so long as they were all under 120GB? Thanks for any help!
