    I see a few other competitors going south come next year as the Christmas season will decide they future hold and outcome in the portable music market.

    Competitors still haven't released an MP3 player that's as easy to use as the original 5GB iPod. If anything, they are 4 years behind, and it doesn't look like they are catching up anytime soon.

    By next year, Creative will be calling it quits.

    I believe that we are seeing the beginning of the end for the competitors, they just don't know it yet;)

    Agreed.

    Every other music player I see pales in comparison to any of the iPods.

    Yep, they have already "realigned" their product offering...this after declaring an MP3 war.

    Some war. As long as Apple keeps the line fresh, and keeps adding features, I don't see it stopping anytime soon.
