I'm in the camp that really likes the Smart cover (I have a poly-gray), but I was concerned that the back would be scratched up. I needed some rear protection that was compatible with the SC yet added minimal weight or thickness.

This rear cover fit the job nicely, it was very easy to put on, feel easier to grip compared to the smooth aluminum, and since I got the clear version, it preserves all the aesthetics of this beautiful little machine.

Its a little pricey at $30, but it totally did I want I needed it to do, and I highly recommend it. But...if you are looking for a case/cover that will protect your iPad2 from accidental drops onto hard floors, this may not be enough.

Note: I tried to include the full size images in this post, but they are too big. Unfortunately, MRF disables IMG resizing tags in BBCode posts.

Is it hard plastic, or TPU?

Agree with the quality comment, but this case (Smartfit2 rear cover), is soft and scratches easily, I FTP Ed my iPad and it dented, ie the cover offered little protection.

I'm not surprised that it dented after a drop. I think this rear cover is meant for scratch protection, not dent protection.

just an update. I gave the clear cover to my wife for her iPad 2. For me, I just picked this up from Amazon.com:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XIT4NO

It's EXACTLY the same as the Joy Factory one, but its only $5.20!! And it fits perfectly. The Joy Factor rear cover is $30?!? WTF.
