I just got my MBP from applecare for the second time due to my right speaker not sounding the same as my left speaker. Does anyone else have this problem?? Is it something I am doing?? I've tried many songs and changed the balance and each speaker sounds noticably different, is this supposed to be the case? The work says they replaced everything audio related, but they didn't even bother to check if the problem was fixed?! Thanks for any input...

like in a 'caisse de resonnance' everything that is around the speaker will affect how it sounds, in a hifi system, the left and right speaker are in the exact same box so they should sound the same, not in a laptop, maybe that's why? just guessing here :D

I have the same problem with my MBP. I read somewhere here that the reason is that the one speaker does have some kind of casing while the other one doesn't. This is probably due to other components on the logic board requiring the space of this casing. The sound on my MBP pro is really much poorer than on my old PB Titanium. I haven't read anywhere that Apple has successfully "repaired" machines with this problem. So I didn't ask for a repair (and was happy that Apple at least fixed the much more annoying "whine" on my machine).

Wow I'm suprised that this could be possible, I mean I don't use my speakers that often so its not a big issue, but on mine its very very noticable. The left speaker is so much clearer than the right speaker so its kind of annoying. Do the new MBP suffer from this problem as well? Guess I won't ask them to repair it again then if its not fixable.
