This is like a simplified version of Fluid, one of my all time favorite screen savers. Definitely one I'll have to grab.

    What made fluid more complex?

Useless creations also do a stunning 3d Matrix coding saver which is equally as impressive. I think the ripple is a bit more classy though and it fits superbly with tiger and its ripple effect.

That's a cool screensaver, but it's best for single-display setups. On multiple displays, it shows the same desktop snapshot for all of the displays. :(

    Still awesome, though! :)

Fluid uses the stupid .sit compression, while the ripple one doesn't. :D

I reckon if you email the guy, he may be able to fix that with a bit if time. Triple display eh? Not Bad!

Raven: Err.. what's a .sit compression?!?!

    .sit = StuffIt. *barf*

I downloaded both the ripple and the Matrix screensavers. With the camera movements turned off, the Matrix screensaver is the best one I've seen so far. This is the first one that finally matches my vision of what a Matrix screensaver ought to be. Too bad the Matrix is old news now.

.sit = barf = opinion? What the heck is wrong with stuffit files? I've never had a problem with them. Ever.

I can tell you that it does work on dual (and triple) displays, but it shows the ssame picture for both. It would be nice if it showed the desktop picture for each display, but it doesn't.

I've emailed the guy who wrote it so we'll see if it can be done...

Awesome. As far as I can see, that's the one caveat with this 'saver.

way beyond my tech knowledge, but I imagine initially if the answer was 'not yet' it would be tested on a dual display pc first. Intruiged to see. Having a separate one for each display would mean a seriously tricky looking set up.

The vast number of color, mathematic, and rendering options in it--three checkboxes and two sliders worth of controls vs. 5 tabs full of 30-some obscure options. Far easier to get a decent looking ripple effect with this saver, so I'd probably like it more if it weren't for the rather severe nag overlay.

    !

Had a reply from Rob, the programmer.

He basically said he didn't know the Mac one worked on dual/tri-displays but is pleased it does! Unfortunately, it does not work on a dual display PC, and he does not have a dual display Mac, so cannot develop it from his end. Boooooo....!!

So, that's the end of that unless anyone wants to try developing his code using their triple display hey dsharits?!?!

He also said he is working on a really cool 'fire' one. Interesting, very interesting....

you beat me to it. One caution is that the computer tends to run very Hot when it is running:mad:. Still, some remarkable effects.
