I was also looking for this old Mac game today, and stumbled across this thread.

I managed to get it copied off an old Mac disk, and I've got it working on the Mini vMac emulator.

I've put up a web page about the game, and a download of the emulator and disk image containing System 6 and the Risk game at: http://www.richardloxley.com/fun/risk/

Let me know if this is what you were looking for!

Richard, my many thanks. This is a dream come true. Well done. :)

Best Regards,
John

Risk Game old mac version

A little late, but I have copies of the version you're looking for- both the black & white (with different patterns) and the same game in colors (but no patterns). Got them from a shareware site around '88-'89.

I read some of the other posts regarding how to get it to work on newer machines, but I haven't tried any of them yet and I fully admit that it is over my head. I do, however still have an older gen imac and a Power PC from about '92. I have to admit that this game is 99% of the reason I still have them (ya, I have a problem).

I got this game on a disk with lots of other shareware mac games about 10 years ago. I have a bunch of old macs I play it on. newest one is the Performa 636CD (my mom bought new).

I'll have to give the emulator a try, as I mostly use PCs for normal computering.
