So anyone heading over to the Apple store in Arden?

I was there for the 3GS launch and it wasn't too bad. Got there around 4-5am but found out at 6am that only primary holders could buy the iPhone even though I am an authorized account user. Drove a few parking lots to AT&T and the line was shorter.

For the iPad launch the line was very short. I arrived around 530-6 and stood again the the first come, first serve line. They were serving water and coffee which was very generous. The transaction went by very fast after they opened and I was in and out of the store in ten minutes with two ipads.

This year I expect it to be a similar launch like the 2g or 3G. I was able to reserve two iPhones but still need two more. Hoping once I'm in holding the two reserved phones, I can ask for two additional phones.

I think arden mall is a great spot...less people and AT&T is close by just in case you're not able to get a phone.

Trust me. You will want to avoid Arden Fair like the plague on the 24th/25th. With more people knowing about the store there, it will be packed. Your chances will be better at the Galleria at Roseville instead. To be completely honest, it would be better to make a weekend out of it and drive up to Summit Sierra in Reno. Lines will be much smaller there.

I'm going to give it a try - I'm out for the summer so this will be my official first adventure. I have a confirmed reservation so I will be in that line;)
Does anyone have any idea what time I should arrive so I won't be sitting in the line 5 hours after the 7 am opening? At least Starbucks is right at the main door to get to the escalator for the :apple:store!!

From what my friends told me, Galleria is just as busy now as the one in Arden. I already made reservations at Arden though :( but that is a smart idea to go to Reno.

I will probably drive by around 10pm possibly midnight...if there is no one there to a small amount I'll check again later. More than likely my younger brother and me will be there at midnight.

On a side note I haven't lined up this early since the wii first came out...at least the weather won't be too bad.

:DFirst day of my summer vacation! I'm sipping my Bucks now, but when the mall opens I think I'll wander of there and ask the Apple crew what time to get in line and how Arden Fair handles these things as far as opening doors, etc. Once I find out this info, I'll post again.

Very nice Apple rep told me that there will be two lines as we expected. There will be signs in the mall and outside directing the lines. The mall has not yet told them what time they will open the outside doors:confused:

I reserved my first iPhone to be picked up at Arden. Any idea how busy it will be or any guesses as to a good time of day to go?

Well from heat I know from the 3GS and ipad...mall opened up for apple and start bucks around 6. You walk in through star bucks and most people will get something from them and proceed to the apple store. There will be two lines for reserves and walk-ins. Once you're settled most of the people were pretty nice and people were coming and going to use the restroom with no hassle of getting back in line.

Now as for the iPhone 4....I think the lines will definitely be long and will start early. I believe the mall closes at nine on weekdays. My plan is around 10-11, I'll drive by and see if there's a line. If there is none I'll come back every one to two hours until I see a small crowd form. I'm hoping that's not until 4-5...wishful thinking though

Thanks for the info! I was thinking 4:30 would be a good time and then at least I stay in bed for a few hours! I'm happy to hear about Starbucks and the restrooms! I'll have my Gold Bucks card loaded and ready to go;)

I'm not the primary account holder but i am an authorized account user. My mom is the primary account holder and she will be at work so she cant pick it up at The apple store in Arden. I called at&t about this asking if i could still pick it up being authorized and they said yes that i can pick it up at apple and need my photo id etc. Im confused from your post thinking that i cant any more

    Arden Fair line

I'll be waiting in line Wednesday night in anticipation of the 4's launch. What I'm wondering though is how Apple deals with having a line outside the mall. Like do people just start sprinting to the Apple store once mall doors are unlocked? Or do they just walk really fast and pretend like they're not racing? lol. I hope the white iPhones are available. I thought they looked goofy and unnatural with a black back, but now that they're just about all white, I'm intrigued.

I just called the Arden Fair

For "security purposes", we're not allowed to line up outside of the mall until 6:30AM.
So I'm just going to sleep in, get there at 6:20, and then try to outrun everyone else from their cars to the door.
And then security will walk us to the apple store.

this was from my experience when trying to upgrade to the 3gs. I was already in line in front of apple and they told me if i was not the primary then they couldn't do anything. I called this time and they said authorized user can purchase.

Oh I did not know that. I believe the earliest I've been was around 5-530 and think I remember some people lined up outside. Once they opened up starbucks people didn't bum rush in either. The line that was outside pretty much stayed the same except divided into apple's two lines. If this is the case I'll probably do what you're saying. Why camp out if it's not allowed lol

Arden is pretty strict about releases... I was at the jordan spacejam launch on the 23rd of Decemember and the shoes were releasd at 12. they wouldnt let people line up till 11 and there was a big riot outside the mall...

Anyone know how long the walk-in line will take?

I get off work at 7, hoping to get there by 730-745am. What do you guys think the chances are? How long will the line take to move? Any ideas???

Just talked to the Apple Store and although they wouldn't tell me the # of people on the reserve list, they told me it was "substantial". She also said that we would have to wait in our cars until the mall opened at 6 or 6:30.:eek:

I stopped by Best Buy and the Zagg front and back protection for the 4 was hanging right on the rack! I shelled out the $30 - since reading about scratches this morning I'm becoming paranoid! Bumper won't be here until the 5th or I'll buy another color tomorrow. See everyone there!:p

yeah arden plays 0 games if you try to camp out they will make you go to your car... they told us at the shoe release if they saw you more than once they would escort you off the property.

This is not how it was at Arden for the 3G launch. They allowed us to line up earlier outside the building by Starbucks (~3:30am). Once the mall opened (earlier than normal for customers), we were escorted by security, still in line, to the apple store upstairs. Didn't bother hanging out for the 3GS launch (walked right in on 6/19/09, no lines).

    Any updated information this time?

I stopped by the Galleria @ Roseville earlier today and security looked mystified as to why people were camping out by the doors on the steps of the mall near Crate and Barrel/Pottery Barn. I'm hoping they let people hang out there. I heard theres gonna 2 lines too... one for reserves and one for non-reserves. I have mine reserved, but I'm wanting to get in/out as early as possible.

Best buy messed up my order so I'm considering showing up around 5am. Does anyone know how many they will have? What happens if there are already a bunch of people in line?

Hey all, that time of year again, ah? I've done all of these at Arden Fair. I called security and they confirmed no campers. Doors will open at 6AM like the 3GS launch last year. see y'all there!
