    Hi...

Before Safari 6, I used to be able to type a word into the url bar, hit enter, and Safari would resolve the word into a correct URL and go to the website in question- e.g. type in Apple, it goes to apple.com... type in apple/uk and it went to apple.com/uk. Type in bbc/iplayer and it went to bbc.co.uk/iplayer.

Now, I just get a god d@mn google search.

Is there anyway of returning to the previous behaviour? If not, is downgrading a simple matter of removing Safari 6 and installing 5 again? There are other things that I don't like about 6 too, like the new look of the tabs...

Only way around it I see is is you type in "apple" for example, you can use the arrow key to run to the bottom of the dropdown to "Go to site apple" and that seems to work.
