Safari favorites bar - keyboard shortcut?

It looks like pressing command and 1, 2, 3 ... has been discontinued with El Cap's Safari - now, you must press both alt/opt and command, then 1, 2, 3 ... is there any way to revert this back to the previous behavior in Yosemite?

Safari Preferences >> Tabs, uncheck the switch tabs option.
