When I view a PDF is Safari, Acrobat automatically butts in and opens the PDF within Safari causing Safari to pause and then run slower than usual. I would prefer PDFs on the web to be viewed purely by Safari. I know there is a tick box somewhere in Acrobat preferences (I think) to stop Acrobat butting in but I can't seem to find it in CS3.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks

You should be able to select any pdf file on your computer and Get Info. From there, tell the OS what default app you want to open pdf files with.

I thought I found the solution. I unchecked the box in Acrobat preferences but PDFs on the web still open in acrobat within Safari.

rdowns I'm not talking about PDFs on my Mac I mean PDFs on the web. :)

Can I just erase the Acrobat plugin or will that mess things up? Also remind me where the plugin may reside :)
