I am a new mac user so sorry for the dumb question.

I plugged my ipod in today and for some reason itunes wasnt responding to it. So i was left with a "do not disconnect" signal on my ipod. This used to happen on my windows machine and when it did I had an option on my taskbar to "safetly remove hardware". Is there such an option on OSX? What I ended up doing was restart the macbook with the ipod still plugged in.

Any help?

A few other ways to eject a disk:

1. Right click on your iPod icon on the desktop, right click: Eject

2. Drag the disc icon (iPod icon) to the trash

3. Click "eject" next to the disc in the Finder
