SATA drive won't mount via SATA/USB adaptor

My PC crashed, and I need to recover a very important document. I've purchased a SATA to USB adaptor and have tried using it with my Powerbook. OS X recognizes it, since the drive appears in the Disk Utility, however, it does not appear on the desktop and I can't get access to it. Ideas?

Hi I have the same problem my MACBOOK HD crashes and I bought a NEW HD 250GB the new disk run perfectly but I cannot acces to my crashed old disk via USB with a SATA adapter, the disk don´t appear in DiskUtility & DiskWarrior, any ideas ?
